I bought my first succulent three years ago, just after junior year. About six months later, I noticed that my succulent had started growing taller. Much taller. At first, I thought this was a sign of a healthy, growing succulent. After some research, however, I learned that this was a sign my little guy wasn't getting enough sunlight.
I quickly moved it to a south facing window in my house, since this is where most of the sunlight is in the northern hemisphere, but the damage was done. My succulent was extremely stretched out and not at all how I wanted it to look. While there was no way for me to force it back down, I learned my answer lied in succulent propagation. I wanted to walk other people through the process, if they were facing similar issues with their succulents. |
