We've made it to Europe! Even better news, I seemed to have found a good spot to blog about it! The wi-fi here is incredibly sketchy, so I'm eternally grateful.
We got on a plane in the late afternoon on the 29th and landed in Paris mid-morning on their time. We then snagged a much smaller flight into Basel, Switzerland, where we got on a Viking Cruise Ship. This ship is taking us all the way from Basel to Amsterdam. It is so incredibly different being immersed in a foreign culture. One thing I've noticed is how green travel is. I've seen over twice as many bikes as I have cars. There are also many trains and trams to take people throughout the cities or long distances to other towns. In America, one will a foreign language being spoken, some places more often than others. That foreign language is almost always Spanish, and is still highly a minority. In Europe, this is completely not the case. When passing down a street, I can hear two, three, four languages being spoken at once. While English seems to be the common language amongst all cultures (thank goodness), accents are thick and originate from all different parts of Europe, Asia, and even Australia. Europe seems to be the centerpiece of work and travel for the entire world. More to come in the next couple of days! Much Love, Vikka
